Volunteering

Volunteer Service

WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS to join our dedicated team. Whether you have a few hours to spare each week,  could spare some of your time on an occasional basis, or you would like to be more Deaf aware and help people with hearing loss, there are a variety of ways in which you could help us:

  • Making home visits to clients, to demonstrate and advise on environmental aids.
  • Become a Youth Worker to help with Deaf Youth Service (subject to CRB check). Please see more details in the youth section.
  • Become a “buddy” to a Deaf or Hard of Hearing person, befriending and helping them with communication.
  • Distribute publicity leaflets.
  • Become a member of Action for Deafness (Please see the Membership page)
  • Help to organise or holding small fundraising events.
  • Become a trustee.
  • Remember us in your will.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP, or have any other ideas which would help us to raise funds, please contact us through this website or telephone us on 01444 415582.

FULL TRAINING, OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES AND ON-GOING SUPPORT WILL BE GIVEN.
