Taking Action for Deafness

The new name, branding and streamlined website were well received with many enthusiastic comments. The Hon. Nicholas Soames wished the organisation well with its plans for future development and complimented the striking contemporary design of the branding which marks a new era for the charity.

Formerly known as West Sussex Deaf & Hard of Hearing Association, the new identity, Action for Deafness, enhances the organisation’s position as the key provider of support, advice and services to Deaf and hard of hearing people throughout West Sussex and reflects the change of status to a Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee on 2nd July 2008.

Action for Deafness is core funded by West Sussex County Council and works in partnership with many other local and national organisations, including West Sussex Primary Care Trust to provide audiology services to anyone over the age of 50 living in West Sussex.

Walk-in Resource Centres in Worthing and Haywards Heath offer help, support and advice with trained staff and volunteers available to demonstrate the latest environmental aids. With its new identity, the Charity has many plans to expand and enhance the services it provides to all Deaf and hard of hearing people across the county.
