Nicola Benge is the new Speaking up for Disability project coordinator at the charity, Independent Living Association. Looking at disability history in West Sussex through the oral histories of disabled people, this project gives people the chance to tell their own story thanks to a £49,500 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). Nicola said ‘I am really pleased to join the ILA, and get involved with this exciting project!’
The project is looking for participants to have their experiences recorded, and volunteers interested in oral history training to get involved.
