AGM 2008
Our AGM was held on Wednesday 2 July at the Cyprus Hall in Burgess Hill.
In spite of glorious summer weather and a crucial match for Andy Murray our Chair Woman, Jenny Fielder, welcomed almost 50 people to the meeting. Jenny thanked the retiring trustees: Wendy Horton and Helen Robinson and welcomed 3 new trustees; Mark Clark, Roger Hewitt and Neil Robinson.
Our new name was unveiled and was very well received. The annual report and accounts were accepted and new auditors were appointed.
Roger Hewitt, consultant on Deafness issues and raconteur, gave a lively and thought provoking address. Roger is an inspiration to Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and hearing people alike and his election as a new trustee will be of great benefit to the organisation.
The Chief Executive Officer, Jane Shaw, gave a vote of thanks to Roger, Jenny, the trustees, staff and all volunteers before Jenny closed the meeting.
Everyone then lingered to enjoy a delicious buffet supper prepared by the trustees, to chat with old and new friends alike.
