The LR-100 is a simple to use and easy to handle personal listener and has a very good level of amplification. It can be used by people without hearing aids using the headphones provided. A neckloop is available separately for hearing aid users who have a ‘T’ program on their hearing aids.
The LR-100 is a compact user-friendly communication system to aid understanding, in particular in situations where it can be difficult to understand what someone is saying and where even the most modern hearing aids are only of limited benefit - e.g. in noisy surroundings or rooms where there is an echo. In these situations, users can benefit further by using the low frequency attenuation switch which is very effective in helping with speech intelligibility.
The microphone in the LR-100 picks up the sound source and plays it back via unobtrusive earphones or by inductive direct transmission into the hearing aid - both with clarity and at a volume set to suit the individual.
The LR-100 also has a loop listening facility for use in public places such as theatres, banks and churches that have loop systems installed. This means that you can benefit from these systems without a hearing aid.
The LR-100 listener consists of a built-in portable microphone and amplifier in one product. There is also a 3.5mm aux socket for connecting into external sound sources eg. a CD player, radio etc (requires purchase of separate lead - see Associated Items). When using this aux socket, the microphone is turned off but the LR-100 will amplify the sound fed into it.
Recommended for use with the provided headphones. Alternatively, an inductive neck loop is available and may be purchased for hearing aid wearers. The LR-100 comes with a lanyard, which makes it easy to wear by placing it around the neck. It can also be handheld or placed on a table with the microphone pointed towards the person you want to listen to.
