Chair of Trustees of Action for Deafness
Jenny comes from a family having at least three generations with hearing loss, including her own. After several years volunteering for Action For Deafness, she was asked also to be a Trustee - and is now in her 4th and final year as a Trustee, and will be retiring at the Annual General Meeting on 19th October 2010. Being a Trustee in a charitable enterprise has entailed a steep learning curve for Jenny, and some homework(!). She feels she has gained a greater understanding of people's needs, and been able to make a contribution to putting structures in place to meet those needs. It has been a rewarding experience for Jenny and she will continue to be a volunteer for Action for Deafness.
