Deaf Parenting UK Conference

DEAF PARENTING UK CONFERENCE  `Are We Equal?' in accessing to Health, Social Services and Children's Education.  

WEDNESDAY 7 JULY 2010,

 The Resource Centre, 356 Holloway Road, London, N7 6PA.

Asif Iqbal, Media/Project Manager of Deaf Parenting UK is delighted, saying:  "We are excited to have Pat Tulloch, Chief Executive of National Association of Family Information Services (NAFIS) as one of our speaker at the Conference. NAFIS have a network of local Family Information Services across UK, providing information and advices to parents and families on childcare, early years and children activities. Pat is looking forward to meeting all Deaf parents and professionals at the conference, wanting to know their views and feedback on how Family Information Services can meet Deaf parents' needs in their local areas."

We are looking for Deaf parents to share their experiences including the following:
Should your child be seen as `child in need' and qualify for free nursery place?
Do you have access to your children's education? How well is your access to health services for your health throughout pregnancy, birth and your children's health?
Are you happy or have any concerns regarding your child's health, well-being and development? Is your local social service providing support to you as Deaf parents and accessible to meet your needs?

The conference offers an excellent programme of speakers for Deaf parents and professionals, as well as an exciting programme of family activities for children of Deaf parents including face painting, magic show, etc. More information about our conference including booking form can be found at:
