This Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee was set up in 1994, by Deaf people, to help Deaf, deafened, deafblind and hard of hearing people of West Sussex. We are not affiliated to other charities, and are therefore able to run a streamlined service with low administration costs.
National statistics say that one in seven people in this country have a hearing loss. In West Sussex alone, there are approximately 5,000 Deaf people and another 250,000 who have some degree of hearing loss.
We help thousands of people to communicate and enjoy a better quality of life by supplying help, support, advice and environmental aids.
The organisation is core funded by West Sussex Social and Caring Services and works in partnership with many other local and national organisations including a contract with West Sussex PCT to provide audiology services for the over 50s in West Sussex.
We are continually developing and strengthening our services and this website is just one way of making our services accessible to those with a hearing loss.
If you have any concerns about hearing difficulties, or would like to know more about the work of our organisation, please contact us.
